As the way in which consumers buy, rent and market properties has changed significantly over the past decade, online marketing has become an increasingly important factor in delivering results in the estate agency business, it said.
‘Today's consumers are looking for more than just contact details and some photos and this project has been a huge step forward for Townends as a business. We felt that it was important to not only improve the aesthetics of the site to complement our rebrand which took place last year, but also to improve the content and functionality, providing us with an up to date, dynamic site which would support our existing social media and client communication strategies,’ said Kirstie Ayres, group marketing and technology director at Badger Holdings.
‘In addition, the site's improved functionality is designed to take advantage of the recent changes made by Google which ranks those sites with regularly updated content higher than those with largely static pages,’ she added
Working with London based agency, WAI, the new Townends website is now more user friendly and can be used as a tool rather than a brochure, according to Ayres.
Improvements have been made to the way in which customers search for properties to ensure the results returned cater for their exacting requirements, as well as providing an area guide with local information on locations which the Townends branch network covers.
‘We are very pleased with the finished result and hope that the new site will encourage more customers to communicate and build relationships with us electronically through the Townends blog, regular quick poll and Twitter feed. What's even more exciting for us as a business is that this launch is just phase one and we have a series of online developments to reveal in the coming months,’ added Ayres.
