UK’s top places to live

Tunbridge Wells

Every time there is a list depicting the most desirable places in the UK, Tunbridge Wells is up there amongst the best. A beautiful and historic spa town in South Kent, there is plenty to do and see.

Located just 30 miles south of London, the area is thriving with history, leisure activities and great shops.

For those who love embarking on new adventures and learning about history, local guides offer regular tours of the spa town. So whether you’re a visitor, or someone contemplating moving to the area, you can be sure to be welcomed with open arms.

For many, relocating to a different part of the country is as much about finding their dream home, as it is finding a nice town or city to live in. There are plenty of new homes in Kent, which is exactly why Tunbridge Wells is a fantastic place to look. You’ll instantly fall in love with the castles, churches, gardens and endless activities available.

Sevenoaks

Sevenoaks is another of Britain’s most popular places to live. Like Tunbridge Wells, it is also located in Kent and there are plenty of things to do.

The area is fantastic for golf, restaurants, museums, art galleries and horse riding.

Bird watchers, walkers and nature lovers will love the Sevenoaks Wildlife Reserve. With such picturesque views, it is a fantastic place for a relaxing day out no matter what the weather.

Riverhill Himalayan Gardens is another favourite for families in the area. With 10 acres of gardens to explore, you will have a magnificent adventure amongst towering rhododendrons and rare specimen trees. Keep an eye out for the infamous Riverhill Yeti, a popular character amongst children, meaning they’ll be begging to pay him a visit every weekend.

Hart

Whenever surveys are done to discover the best places to live in the UK, Hart is another name that keeps popping up. It’s no surprise when studies suggest that those who live there have a greater life expectancy than the average Britain.

Perhaps it is down to the abundance of jobs and nice housing along with the lack of crime and traffic.

With so many trees to climb, so much grass to run your fingers through and fresh air to breathe, Hart residents may also have the vast countryside and open spaces to thank for their long, peaceful lives.

Aberdeen

In this current climate, the promise of a job is usually the most important thing we take into account when looking for a new place to live. This is where Aberdeen comes in. With less than one unemployed person for every job, it is said to be the easiest place to find employment in the United Kingdom. Outside of work, you’ll be sure to find plenty of things to do. Enjoy a nice walk through the soft and clean dunes and paddle in the waves of Balmedie Beach, just north of the city. If exhibitions and museums are more your cup of tea, pay the Maritime Museum a visit for an insight into the history of seafaring.
