Crest Nicholson has announced the launch of the government-backed First Homes scheme at its popular Potter’s Grange development in the leafy market town of Ashby-de-la-Zouch in Leicestershire. With a stylish and modern collection of three, four and five bedroom homes, the development is perfect for a range of home hunters.
The First Homes scheme, introduced by the government last year, aims to help first time buyers get onto the property ladder by offering up to a 50 percent discount on the market price of selected new build homes, with just a five percent deposit. To be eligible for the scheme, the property must be a new-build and applicants must be first time buyers with a household income of no more than £80,000. Applicants must also be able to access a mortgage of at least 50 percent of the market price of the property. Local councils may set additional eligibility requirements.
One of the house types that the scheme is available on is the three-bedroom Hatfield, with first time buyers being offered a 30 percent discount on the market price of their new home. The Hatfield features an open-plan kitchen/dining room and spacious separate living room which runs across the rear of the property, providing plenty of space to relax, unwind, or entertain. The ground floor also benefits from French doors opening into a private garden which flood the downstairs with an abundance of natural light. Upstairs, the Hatfield features two double bedrooms, with the main complete with its own ensuite and built-in wardrobe. The third single bedroom is ideal as a guest room, nursery or separate office space for those who work from home. The main family bathroom serves the other bedrooms and is designed with the highest quality fixtures and fittings.
Vanessa MacNee, Sales and Marketing Director at Crest Nicholson Midlands, commented: “We’re proud to be providing further support for first time buyers at Potter’s Grange through the government’s First Homes scheme. With the end of the Government-backed Help to Buy scheme, the First Homes scheme is a great alternative which supports first-time buyers. It now sits alongside Deposit Unlock, which offers mortgages with just a 5% deposit, and Home Reach, which provides part-buy, part-rent options, as schemes available at the development.
“This is a great opportunity to join a well-established, bustling, and diverse community of homeowners, including young professionals and families. The scheme is already proving very popular, with many completions already taking place, so we advise anyone interested to get in touch with our friendly sales teams as soon as possible to check they are eligible and find out more information.”
