Bahrain property exhibition expands due to demand

The entire exhibition area has been sold out two months before it opens so organisers have now added an extra 1,200 square metres.

'It is a matter of pride that the entire exhibition area which was initially earmarked, has been sold out two months prior to the opening of BIPEX 2008,' said organising committee chairman Mohammed Khalil Alsayed.

'For the first time since the exhibition started five years ago we have had to increase the exhibition area to 8,700 square metres m from last year's 6,000 square metres to cater for the growing number of participants and visitors,' he added.

The three day exhibition, which opens at the Bahrain International Exhibition Centre on October 23, is now the largest property expo in Bahrain and the organisers said they expect to attract a record number of visitors this year.

Admission is free and the exhibition will remain open from 10am to 9pm on all three days. A special property seminar will be held at the Al Fanar Hall from 10am to 1pm on all three days to provide technical details to participants, including information on finance, legal norms and taxation.

Exhibitors this year include a wide range of real estate, investment and developers from throughout the Middle East. Its success over the last five years is put down to the huge growth in real estate and infrastructure development in the region.
