Grosper, a new group buying website, launches later this month offering group discounts on property rentals and home related services.
It will offer group discounts of up to 20% on apartments across Dubai for as little as three consumers, said spokesman Mohammed Hingora.
‘We tie up with developers in the United Arab Emirates and take some of their inventory to put on our website. If for example, they have a building in International City, we put part of the inventory on our website saying three studios and if all three of them are rented within 14 days, then all three people get about a 15 to 20% discount,’ he explained.
Other discounts will include home cleaning services and furniture, and Hingora added that 1,500 people have already signed up and they are expecting 50,000 members in the first six months of business.
‘I’m really positive about the kind of response we are going to get because the users here are very familiar with the group buying concept,’ he said but refused to name the developer involved.
Hingora said that the group will initially concentrate on rentals in Dubai before expanding to Abu Dhabi and Sharjah.
