Persimmon Homes will build 1,200 homes in Lichfield, Kenilworth, Redditch, Sandwell and Burton on Trent, after receiving planning approval across those areas in the last six months.
The builder has a factory manufacturing timber frames, wall panels, and roof cassettes for up to 9,500 of its homes around the country.
Stephen Cleveley, regional chairman for Persimmon Homes, said: “The West Midlands is of vital importance to our company.
“We see lots of opportunity to deliver quality homes in the area and ultimately support the government’s target of building 1.5 million new homes over the next five years.
“Our relationships with Local Authorities and Registered Housing Providers are key to this success and we value the engagement we have with these organisations.
“Our national timber frame factory, which manufactures our timber frames, highly insulated wall panels and roof cassettes for up to 9,500 of our homes around the country, is based in Castle Bromwich, reinforcing our commitment to the area.
“We’re excited to begin work on these sites and to deliver quality homes to the people of the West Midlands.”
Persimmon Homes has four regional offices in Telford, Birmingham and Studley and North Midlands.
The company acquired additional land for development in Dunchurch and Bedworth, with a further acquisition in Wednesbury due later this month.
