Third of New Homes Built at Bellway Development in Ashford

More than a third of the homes on a Bellway development in Ashford have now been completed, with their new residents moved in.

The housebuilder has finished construction on 80 out of the 220 new homes being delivered at Hinxhill Park, off Hythe Road.

Bellway is providing a mix of one, two, three, four and five-bedroom homes at the site, with 176 of the homes being built for private sale, and the remaining 44 made available as affordable housing for local people through rent or shared ownership.

Mark Harrop, sales director for Bellway Kent, said: “Construction work is progressing well at Hinxhill Park and there is a high level of interest in the properties we are delivering. A total of 80 properties have now been completed with residents moving in and making Hinxhill Park their home. Residents have already started to create a brand-new community which is great to see. We are building a wide range of properties from those with two bedrooms through to larger homes with five bedrooms. This mix has attracted a range of different of buyers including single people, first-time buyers, downsizers and growing families – and this is resulting in the creation of a vibrant new neighbourhood with something to offer to everyone.”

As part of the planning agreement, Bellway has committed to funding improvements and enhancements to the local area, including a new link road between Hinxhill Road and the A20 to support a new entrance to the William Harvey Hospital.

In all, Bellway will be providing financial contributions totalling more than £2.5 million, with £848,000 towards primary education, £441,000 towards secondary education, £669,000 towards junction 10A of the M20, and £367,000 towards a new outdoor activity zone at the Julie Rose Stadium in Ashford.

Further contributions will be made to adult social care, allotments, cemeteries, community learning, parks and youth services.

Construction work started on the development in early 2019 and is due to be finished in late 2022.

Mark said: “Hinxhill Park is in a very good location as it is close to the M20 and Ashford International railway station for commuters who can get to London St Pancras in less than 40 minutes. The development is also within three miles of Ashford town centre for anyone wanting to take advantage of all the local amenities the town has to offer. Buyers here have also appreciated the lovely range of traditional Kentish-style properties, with a good specification, that we are building at the development.”

There’s currently a range of three, four and five-bedroom homes available to reserve at Hinxhill Park, with prices starting at £354,995.
