30,000 participants take virtual training from NHBC during lockdown

NHBC, the warranty and insurance provider for new homes in the UK, has delivered virtual training to 30,000 participants.

Many of NHBC’s courses that were delivered in face-to-face classroom settings have now been adapted for virtual learning.

Darryl Stewart, NHBC’s head of training and analysis, said: “We have been truly astounded by the success of our virtual training – supporting 30,000 participants in two months is a milestone we are hugely proud to have reached.

“Initially rolled out to provide house builders with extra support during lockdown, we now see virtual learning as an integral part of NHBC’s training offer and look forward to supporting thousands more house-building professionals over the coming months.”

NHBC offers a range of training courses designed to raise standards, increase technical expertise, drive sustainability and meet regulations.

Scott Bremmer, construction manager at Cala Homes, said: “Most of the site management team have been attending the NHBC Webinars over the last couple of months and found them to be very informative.

“They are now attending an NHBC Defects training course online through our Construction Academy which should have been 3 days away sitting in a classroom – they were more than willing to sign up and do the training from home.”
