Chestertons launches into Morocco

Chestertons has signed up JK Real Estate, an estate agency business specialising in new homes, to its luxury real estate network – and it will now operate as Chestertons Morocco.

Based in Morocco’s capital city Rabat, Chestertons Morocco will also serve the major cities of Casablanca, Marrakech and Tangier. The team will market the exclusive properties, including luxury newly built apartments and villas.

Jawad El Hassani Sbai leads the team as managing director. His background originates in the investment industry in the USA, he then worked at KPMG before running real estate businesses in Morocco for 12 years.

Gavin Vercoe, chief operating officer International at Chestertons Global, said: “This year is set to be an incredibly important one for our global expansion, and we are proud to make this step into a new region of the world through Chestertons Morocco.

“The team has become part of an extensive global network whereby it will benefit from the highest quality referrals and our colleagues across the globe will no doubt benefit in turn from this new presence.

“The team clearly has real prowess in the new homes space, which fits perfectly with our growth plans for 2021 and beyond. I know that Jawad’s team will continue to flourish and we are pleased to be able to support this.”

The launch marks the first Chestertons office to open on the African continent and follows the estate agency’s announcement in January 2021 that it expanded into the Costa del Sol in Spain.

The business has added new offices to its franchise network since Jamie McMullan and David Russell joined the franchising team at the beginning of 2020.

Chestertons said that one of the key reasons JK Real Estate joined the network is its adoption of PropTech to ensure that each office can benefit from exposure to international buyers via the global referrals network.

The Chestertons Morocco will have access to tools which enable easy access to quality buyers across the world, including those in key cities and regions of France (such as Paris and Provence) and Monaco, all important Moroccan markets.

Jawad El Hassani Sbai said: “I am excited by this next step, particularly because Chestertons’ growing network will help us increase our reach amongst both potential buyers and new housebuilder clients.

“We know that the business has a fast-growing New Homes division and this was one of the key selling points for us when joining, we can’t wait to harness the teams’ expertise and skillsets to bring invaluable benefits to our clients and employees.

“The Chestertons package for franchisees is a dynamic one, with a range of digital tools available to meet each office’s unique requirements and effectively reach key feeder markets.”

He added: “Chestertons has invested significantly in PropTech and integrated solutions which facilitate referrals and will give us that crucial access to high quality buyers in our key French-speaking markets.

“Our main vision is to become a global leading player in property sales, through long-term partnerships, and joining the Chestertons network fits perfectly with this aspiration.

“We believe in long lasting business relationships, centred around client satisfaction, and repeat business. We pride ourselves in accompanying our clients throughout the steps of the sales lifecycle, while ensuring we apply a tailored approach to each of our client’s needs.

“The Chestertons brand heritage and the calibre of properties and clients dealt with right across the globe perfectly fits the ethos for our business and we are delighted to be on board.”
