The fifth biggest residential developer in the UK has announced two new appointments at a time when the firm is boosting its output and business strategy.
Tom Nicholson and Andrew Hammond have been promoted to the newly created positions of divisional chairman east and divisional chairman west for Linden Homes.
These newly created positions are central to Linden Homes’ business strategy and will see Tom and Andrew on the Galliford Try Group Executive Board and in their new roles they will have full operational responsibility for Linden Homes.
Tom joined the company in 1996 and was previously divisional managing director east. Joining Linden Homes in April 2015, Andrew’s previous role was divisional managing director west. As divisional chairmen, Tom and Andrew will deliver sustainable profit growth by continuing to drive operational efficiency and high levels of customer service.
The appointments come as Linden Homes looks to refocus its attention on increasing outputs to a forecasted 4,000 homes per year and driving growth beyond the South in the Midlands, West, Thames Valley and North, where Linden Homes opened a second business last year, building on the acquisition of Shepherd Homes.
‘Linden Homes has been moving towards a more streamlined business model for some time with a view to making the company more efficient and better able to provide our customers with the high standard of quality homes that they want,’ said Peter Truscott, Galliford Try chief executive.
‘To support this strategy, the promotions of Tom and Andrew will allow us to capitalise on their many years of experience, increasing our focus on operational excellence and driving our growth strategy in housebuilding which is centred on simplification, standardised processes and devolved responsibility,’ he added.
